Phoenix 1.3 Update
I’ve done some work on the Phoenix iPhone app:
- iPad version
- New 3D Team Roster
- Access to the Manchester Phoenix Forum
- Access to the Manchester Phoenix Gallery
- Now displaying images in the news section
- Ability to share over a large number of additional services such as Delicious, Instapaper, Pinboard, ReadItLater and Tumbler

We also temporarily removed the team statistics as they are not ready for this season yet.
The update is now with Apple and should be released in about a week.

First Phoenix App Update!
I’ve finally had a chance to do some work on the Phoenix app and submitted an update to Apple; this is what’s new:
- PUSH NOTIFICATIONS : You will now receive Push Notifications every time a new article is posted on the Manchester Phoenix website, or when a new podcast episode or a new Phoenix TV episode are released!! The server checks whether there’s something new twice a day.
- Ability to add fixtures to your calendar : You can save (and update) all the fixtures automatically by tapping the ‘save’ button under fixtures
- Added Did you know screens to guide you through the features of the app.
And the following minor changes:
- Additional Twitter Feeds
- Added the ability to read the full description associated to Phoenix TV episodes
- The fixtures screens is now fixed and displays the past scores again
- Proper parsing of news – you shouldn’t see any more broken characters in the news feeds
- Added support for the Coventry Blaze graphics
- The news and score screens are now refreshed as soon as you reopen the app – it wouldn’t do so until you changed screens before
